According to the corporate Leadership Board 2004 Employee Engagement survey-“Employee Engagement is the extent to which employees commit to something or someone in the organisation and how hard they work and how hard they stay as a result of the commitment.” This study further explains that the two types of commitment involved in this process –Rational commitment and emotional commitment (which have four focal points namely day-to-day work, team work, direct manager and organisation) will lead to either performance or attrition.
